| AAHHOTEP.
Egyptian name meaning "peace of Aah,"
or, "peace of the moon." The queen of Kames,
king of Egypt, and mother of Aahmes,
the first monarch of the XVIIIth dynasty. Her golden jewelry at
the Museum of Boulaq is the chef d'oeuvre of Egyptian art, and is
unequalled for elegance by anything except the Etruscan goldwork.
This was the name of the wife or consort of Amenhotep I., of the
XVIIIth dynasty. (An Archaic Dictionary, Cooper, 1876). Also
spelled Aahotep.
