ADIYA.
Arabic name, perhaps from the vocabulary word áḍya, meaning
"narrow-minded."
ADIYA. Queen of Arabia, and wife of Vaiteh I.
She went with her husband to his invasion of Palestine, and though for a
time successful, was ultimately defeated, Vaiteh being sent a prisoner to
Nineveh, where Assurbanipal caged him among his hounds, Adiya sharing the
