ALLAT.  Al-Lat, "the goddess." (Hebraica, July 1893).  An Assyrian goddess, one of many forms of Ishtar (q.v.), called "The Queen of the Spear," or "Divining Rod."  The month Abu, or July, was sacred to her. (An Archaic Dictionary, Cooper, 1876). 

ALLÀT (اللات).  "The Omnipotent."  Allat, an Arabian goddess, worshipped at the town of Tayf, near Mecca where she was represented as a shapeless stone. (An Archaic Dictionary, Cooper, 1876). 

    Allat, the name of an idol worshipped by the pagan Arabians, as the eldest daughter of Omnipotence.  There was likewise an idol called Lāt, worshipped at Somanat, in India; it was one large stone, fifty fathoms in height, placed in the midst of a temple, and supported by fifty-six columns of massive gold. (And English and Arabic Dictionary, Catafago, 1873).
