ANAHID.
Armenian form of Persian Anahita
(q.v.), meaning "pure,
spotless, taintless." It also has the Greek form Anaïtis
(q.v.).
Anahid or Anaïtis was a Persian
goddess, chiefly worshipped in Armenia... She is often alluded to in the
Avesta as Anāhita, pure, spotless, e.g. in the Aban Yasht v.4,
ardivī
çūra Anāhita, "the welling mighty Taintless" goddess.
