ARDITA.  The feminine form of Albanian Ardit (q.v.), meaning "golden day."

ARDITA.  From the Italian vocabulary word, meaning "bold."

ARDITA.  English.  If not the same as the Italian, then perhaps a modern form of Anglo-Saxon Ardith ("good war"), or if Teutonic ("wealthy gift").

"Ardita!" said the gray-haired man sternly.
Ardita uttered as small sound indicating nothing.
    "Ardita!" he repeated.  "Ardita!"
Ardita raised the lemon languidly, allowing three words to slip out before it reached her tongue.
"Oh, shut up."—"The Offshore Pirate," Fitzgerald, Flappers and Philosophers, 1920.
