AREGWYDD.  Of uncertain etymology.  Gwydd may mean "trees, weeds, wood," "presence, sight," "a sage," "a goose."  In Celtic legend, Aregwydd Voeddog was the name of the daughter of Avarddwy Bras (Mandubrath), the man of black treason.  She was certainly the same as Boadicea, though her deed identifies her with Cartismandua.
