AGATANGEGHOS (Ագաթանգեղոս).  Armenian form of Greek Agathangelos (q.v.), meaning "bringer of good news."  This was the name of the Armenians' first national historiographer.  Under this pen name, he wrote about the History of Armenia, and The Teaching of Saint Gregory, a history of Gregory Illuminator and his apostolic labors as first missionary to the Armenians.
