ALHREIKS.  Gothic name, composed of the elements alh "sacred place, a temple," and reiks "commander, ruler," hence "temple ruler."  The Lithuanian form is Alkrikis.

Alhreiks was elected king of the Balthagoths in the year 395.  He died at the age of only 35 after contracting a fever on a voyage to Africa. (Guthones, Rackus, 1929)
