AMENHEMTI.  An Egyptian gentleman, whose statue is in the Leyden Museum.  Period uncertain, probably that of the Middle Empire. (An Archaic Dictionary, Cooper, 1876).   The name appears to be composed of Amen, "the self-existent" and hem-ti "one who has been castrated." (Proceedings of the Society of Biblical Archaeology, vols. 11-20, 1888-98).
