AMRAM (עַמְרָם).  Biblical.  Hebrew name meaning "of kin to the exalted one."

    (1) A Kohathite Levite, the husband of Jochebed and the father of Miriam, Aaron, and Moses.  He lived to the age of 137 (Exod. vi. 20; Numb. iii. 19)
   (2) A son of Bani.  He had married a foreign wife, whom Ezra induced him to put away (Ezra x. 34). (The Sunday School Teacher's Bible Manual, Hunter, 1894)
