ARIOCH.  An early Palestinian king of Ellassar, who fought with the king of Sodom.  His name has not yet been found upon the monuments, unless it is non-Semitic; it appears to be the same as Chaldean Eriacu, "servant of Acu," the Moon-god.  Arioch was at one time supposed to have been the same as Urukh, the early monarch of Babylonia, which see.
