ASSA-TATKERES.  The eighth and last king but one of the Vth dynasty.  Like his predecessors, he carried on the mining operations at Sarbout el Khadem, in the peninsula of Mount Sinai, and was the father of Pthah Hotep, the earliest known writer of proverbs. (An Archaic Dictionary, Cooper, 1876).
