ASSHUR-NADIN.  "Asshur gives."  Also sometimes written Assur-nadin-sumi.  The eldest son of Sennacherib, king of Assyria.  He was made king of Babylon by his father, upon the defeat of Merodach-baladan, but soon died, and was succeeded by the rebel Irigibel, which see. (An Archaic Dictionary, Cooper, 1876).
