Origin of the name ATHOTHES.
Etymology of the name ATHOTHES.
Meaning of the baby name ATHOTHES.

ATHOTHES.  A most ancient king of Egypt, who, according to the Greek historians, invented the Hieroglyphic system of writing.  The statement is probably derived from the Egyptian tradition of the invention of letters by the god Thoth, from whose name Athothes seems to have been derived.  See also AtahutiAthothes, the successor of Menes, and second king of Egypt.  See Teta. (An Archaic Dictionary, Cooper, 1876).
