AUSVINTHUS.  Gothic name meaning "dawn of glory."  The Lithuanian form is Aušvintas (q.v.).  The name of a Gothic king, said to have been a very energetic man, even at the age of 80.  Some of the Balthagothic nobility considered him the "unlawful king", and they revolted against him.
