| BANTANATH.
"Daughter of Anaitis." The daughter of Rameses II., king
of Egypt of the XIXth dynasty. From her being named after a Semitic
deity her mother was probably one of the foreign or hostage wives of
Rameses. She became a queen, but of what country or who she married
are as yet unknown. She was at one time supposed, but wrongly so, to
have been a wife, as well as a daughter, of her father. (An Archaic Dictionary, Cooper, 1876).
