BALDO.  Croatian form of Baltazar (q.v.), having many possible meanings, such as "Bel's prince" and "white prince."

BALDO.  In Germany and Italy, this is found as a short form of Baldassare, possibly meaning "Bel's prince."  But it is a very old name in Germany, most often from a short form of longer names containing bald, meaning "bold."
