Abu 'l-Hasan Ali Ibn Muhammad at-Tihami, a celebrated poet, is spoken of in these terms by Ibn Bassam in his Dakhira:  "He was renowned for his abilities and possessed a cutting tongue;... (Ibn Khallikan's Biographical Dictionary, v.2, 1843)
