BBWADDENE. From the African Luganda proverb Bbwa ddene [Bbwa "dog" + ddene "huge, large" = "huge dog" (Walser)]: "...a big dog is subdued by its owner (or trainer): just as in the situation where sweet potatoes cannot be dug out of the soil with a stick, the hoe which was used to plant them in the first place, will dig them up..." (Odhiambo) Note: I have not been able to find a recorded instance of the actual usage of Bbwaddene as a personal name.
