BELIBNI.  A Chaldean officer who took captive and surrendered Tammaritu, king of Elam, to Assurbanipal.  Belibni, a Babylonian officer who had been educated at the court of Sargon II., and who was placed on the throne of Babylon by Sennacherib after the defeat of Merodach-baladin, at the battle of Kisu. (An Archaic Dictionary, Cooper, 1876).
