CÆSARION.  A form of Cæsar (q.v.), meaning "shaggy-haired."
    The son of Cleopatra VI. and Julius Cæsar.  He was the last of the Ptolemies, and the sacred ceremonies attending his birth form the principal subject of the inscriptions in the temple of Hermonthis.  Cæsarion was also called Ptolemy XVIth, and Neocaisaros. (An Archaic Dictionary, Cooper, 1876).
