"daylight," and "day" in the "Vocabulary
Nilotic English" of the Catholic Mission. It seems to be the
same word as the Dinka chyeng (Mitterrutzner, cyeng), "to
create"; and, meaning first "(God) the creator," then
"sun," its history is thus the reverse of that of Asis and
Liuva, which meant first "sun," "daylight," then
