CLOPAS.  Biblical.  Cleophas  [Greek Klopas, Clopas, Cleophas, and Alphæus are different attempts at transliteration of the same Hebrew word Hhlalphi, "one who passes" (?)].
    The same as Alphæus (q.v.) (John xix. 25—A.V. and R.V.).  Apparently not the same as Cleopas (q.v.). (The Sunday School Teacher's Bible Manual, Hunter, 1894).
