CORIN. Cornish.
Probably the same as Celtic Coran
(q.v.), possibly meaning "horned," from a diminutive form of cor
(a round hill), or corr "a snout." (?). There is a
Latin form, Corineus.
Corin,
"strongest of mortal men," and one of the suite of Brute (the
first mythical king of Britain).
From Corin came it first? [i.e.
the Cornish hug in wrestling]. Drayton: Polyolbion, L
(1612).

Famous Names in Fiction, &c., Brewer, 1899)
