Latinized form of Celtic Dubnovellaunos
(q.v.), Dobuni Vellaunos, i.e. "the king of the Dobuni"
or "Apollo of the Dobuni."
There are
other names of regulii known only by their money, but with one exception
we must pass them over. The exception we allude to, is that of
Dubnobelinus, one of the more particular interest, as it was not till
1851 that any coins were assigned to that prince simultaneously by Mr.
