DUMNO. Celtic
name of the god
of the Dobuni. Dumno,
or dubno, is probably the same word as Old Irish domun,
"world," and usually rendered "king of the world," but it is possible that it meant the smaller world of
the tribe before meaning the world in a wider sense. (Celtic Britain,
Rhys, 1908). Cf. feminine Domnu.
