DUNANU.  The last king of the Gambuli.  He was taken captive by Assurbanipal against whom he had revolted, and made to enter Nineveh with the head of his ally Tiumman king of Elam, hung to his neck, after which he was flayed alive.  This is also the name of a tribe in Mesopotamia, who were conquered by Tiglath Pileser II. (An Archaic Dictionary, Cooper, 1876).  Cf. Duna.
