DUR-I-ASSUR.  "Castle of Assur."  The governor of Tushan in the reign of Tiglath Pileser II.  He was eponym of the year B.C. 728, in which year "the king took the hands of Bel," i.e. held a festival to that deity.  Also spelled Dur-Assur. (An Archaic Dictionary, Cooper, 1876).
