EPAPHOS (Ἔπαφος).  "Touch."  Latinized Epaphus. (The Mythology of Greece and Rome, Fairbanks, 1907).  In Greco-Egyptian mythology the son of Io, and the first king of Egypt.  He had a daughter called Lybia, from whom the district so named derived its title. (An Archaic Dictionary, Cooper, 1876).
