EVADEAM. Arthurian.
A son of Brangore, a handsome young man who is turned into
a dwarf by the sorcery of his love, the Feire Beaune. He is
eventually returned to his former self, but he is knighted by Arthur while
still a dwarf.
"Sire," said then Evadeam, "do you remember a damsel who
brought you a dwarf that you knighted?" "Yes," said
the king, "I may well remember that, for the knight has sent me
five captive knights whom he conquered by his prowess."
"Sire," said then Evadeam, "I am the
dwarf you knighted, and see here is the damsel who prayed you to do it..."
