FATIMA (فاطمہ).  Arabic name meaning "weaned," or "the weaner," from fatam (put from the breast). (An English and Arabic Dictionary, Catafago, 1873).  Also spelled Fatimah.  This was the name of a daughter of the Prophet, who married Ali.  Usage:  America, Portugal (Fatimá).

Fatima. The last of Bluebeard's wives, who was saved from death by the timely arrival of her brother with a party of friends.  Mahomet's favourite daughter was called Fatima. (The Reader's Handbook of Famous Names in Fiction, &c., Brewer, v.2, 1899)
