"white" and guala "shoulders." According
to the Annals of Ireland it has been Anglicized to Penelope. (Praenomina,
Charnock, 1882). Also
spelled Finnghuala.

shoulder, was a tough-looking name enough, though no one need complain
of it as Finnuala, as it
actually is spoken, still less as Fenella.
