(q.v.), a compound of frede- "peace" and -gund
"war." (History of Christian Names, Yonge, 1884).
... Known as the Royal Murderess, mother of Kings
Loafers, and the Jezebel of the Meerwings, Fredegunt is said to have
murdered up to ten kings, or sons of kings, and may have murdered several
