GUENLOIE.
Arthurian. It is probably an old French feminine form of Guingalois
(q.v.), meaning "she who is fair." Her English name is Winlogee,

... Ider is in
search of somebody to give him arms and dub him knight. He falls in
with a king named Ivenant, who is ready to meet his wishes under one
condition:—"Go to my castle and wait for me in the hall. My
wife will offer you her love, though in fact she cares for me alone.
She is irresistible; but if you can withstand her wiles, my arms and armor
shall be yours. If you yield, your head is to be shorn like a
fool's (en crois)." Ider accepts the bargain, confident
that his love for his own amie, Guenloie, will protect him from the
lady's blandishments... (A Study of Gawain and the Green Knight,
Kittredge, 1916)
