GWYN.  Ancient Welsh name meaning "white."  The feminine form is Gwen.  Gwyn also signifies blessed or happy, and gwynnedd is an epithet of some of the favourite kings.  In the Mabinogion, two kings, Gwyn ab Nudd and Gwythir mab Graidiawn, have a battle for the hand of Creirdyddlydd on every May-day.
