St. Hilary, after his return from exile into Phrygia, was received in Poitiers with unbounded joy, and commemorated his return with this miracle.  An infant died before baptism, and St. Hilary, moved to compassion at the grief of the parents, restored the child to life; it was then baptized, and "newness of life was given to its soul."  This miracle is memorialized by sculpture still extant in Poitiers cathedral...
