IRANZI.  King of Minni, a tributary of Assyria.  Contrary to his wishes he was urged by his subjects to revolt against Sargon II., who defeated him, and destroyed his two principal cities, carrying off the inhabitants.  He was succeeded by his son Aza, who was slain by his subjects for his fidelity to Assyria. (An Archaic Dictionary, Cooper, 1876).
