ISOBA.  African Soga name, said to mean "walks slowly, stealthily."  Cf. Nupe tšoba, "approach."  Also spelled Isooba. (A Grammar and Vocabulary of the Nupe Language, Crowther, 1864).
    The Soga language is said to have been spoken by a Bantu population in the Region North of the Victoria Nyanza in Eastern Equatorial Africa. (Linguistic and Oriental Essays, Cust, v.1, 1898)
