Origin of the name KALIL.
Etymology of the name KALIL.
Meaning of the baby name KALIL.

KALIL (خليل).  Variant spelling of Arabic Khalil (q.v.), meaning "a sincere and intimate friend."

... At length the fortress of Hendwan being taken, Konsaid and Noruz Soltan, two of Hussayn's sons, were burnt, and their ashes scattered in the air.  His two other sons, Jehan Mulk and Kalil Soltan, fled into India... (The Modern Part of An Universal History, v.4, 1780)

KALIL (כָּלִיל).  Hebrew name meaning "sacrifice" and "victim."

... These three hieroglyphics are joined in order to express, as the Egyptians used to do, one idea, consisting of different words, namely: hopt-kara-shot, i.e. the head, or chief of [the priests] slaughtering the victims.  The common Coptic name for sacrifice and victim was glil, the Hebrew kalil, descending from the roots kala kara (mactare, jugulare); and the Coptic hol-hel (sacrificare) corresponds also with the Hebrew kara (mactare)... (Transactions of the Academy of Science of Saint Louis, v.1, 1860)
