KHABASH.  A satrap or viceroy of Egypt, after the Persian conquest.  He at first endeavoured to strengthen his country against the Persian fleet under Xerxes, but he was compelled to submit and furnish that monarch with an Egyptian contingent of 200 ships for the battle of Artemisium, B.C. 480. (An Archaic Dictionary, Cooper, 1876).
