Meaning of the baby name KHNUM.

KHNUM.  "Divine Breath" or "Divine Spirit."  In Egyptian mythology the incarnation of the divine breath or spirit of Amen Ra.  He was represented as a ram-headed deity, bearing the Atef crown.  His analogue was the Chnoubis of the Gnostic heretics.  Khnum was the chief deity of Nubia, where he was generally one of a triad with the goddesses Sati and Anouke.  He was also called on the inscriptions "The Maker of gods and men as the soul of the sun, by whose warmth they were created."  In that attribute he was often represented as sitting at the potter's wheel and fashioning the mysterious primal egg of human generation.
