KHUFU.  Or Khnum-khufu.  The first king of the IVth dynasty.  He fought against and conquered the Arabs of the peninsula of Mount Sinai, and erected the great pyramid which he called "The Splendour of Pyramids."  He founded the temple of Athor at Tentyris, and was said to have written a work called the "Sacred Book."  He was the Cheops of the Greeks, by whom he was said to have been an infidel. (An Archaic Dictionary, Cooper, 1876).
