| KURIGALZU. Kurigalzu
I., a very early king of Babylonia, a successor of Hammurabi.
Nothing else is known respecting him, but he must not be confounded with
the later king of Babylonia of the same name. Kurigalzu II.,
a son of Burnaburyas II., who became king of Babylonia. Nothing is
known respecting him. Kurigalzu II. or III., a king of
Babylonia, the son of Burnaburyas II., and very probably the same as
Kurigalzu II. He built a city called Dur-kurigalzu, and restored
many of the Babylonian temples. He also erected the temple of Bit-ugal
in honour of the god Bel. (An Archaic Dictionary, Cooper, 1876).
