Opentri, the chief of Abora, and principal caboceer of the Fante nation, had a slave by name Kwame Tete, who, having committed some crime, sought refuge in the town of Cape Coast; upon which Opentri, without making any application to the Governor to deliver him up, proceeded himself with a force to Cape Coast, seized, and carried him to Mowure, the then Dutch settlement, six miles east of Cape Coast, and there caused him to be beheaded.
