LISANOR. Arthurian.
The mother of Lohot by Arthur.
The author
(or authors) of the Livre d'Artus of the Vulgate Merlin
used both the prose Lancelot and the Perlesvaus in what he
says about Lohot. He takes the account of how he was begotten,
Sommer, Vulgate Version of the Arthurian Romances, II, 124, from
the former—the account of his death, ibid., 316, from the
latter. So in this work Arthur on Merlin's advice makes the
acquaintance of Lisanor, whose father (now dead) was Seuain, lord of the
castle of Canparcorentin. She came to do homage to Arthur and he
begot on her Lohot... (Romantic Review, Todd, v.3, 1912)
