Lory, Gabriel, (or Lori,) a Swiss painter and engraver, was born at Berne about 1763. He was a superior landscape painter. He worked first at Berne, and about 1806 at Herisâu, from whence he went to assist Osterwald in Neufchatel. He died in 1840. (Bryan)
