MAHALAH (מַחְלָה).  Biblical.  A variant spelling of Mahlah (q.v.), meaning "disease."  In the bible, this is the name of the eldest daughter of Zelophehad (Numb. xxvi. 33; xxvii. 1), and the name of another Manassite whose mother was Hammoleketh (1 Chron. vii. 18). (The Sunday School Teacher's Bible Manual, Hunter, 1894).  Also spelled Mahala.
