MARWA (مروة).  Hindustani name meaning "marjoram." (The American Naturalist, v.25, 1891).  The blue flowered fragrant and intoxicating herb was spoken of in ancient legends as an ingredient in medicine, soups, perfumes and even love potions.  It is known in Latin as amaracum, and in Greek as amarakos.
