MABUZ.  Arthurian.  The ruler of the Schatel le mort (Castle of Death).  He is the son of the merfeine, who, since it was predicted to her before his birth that he would always be a coward, enchanted the castle so that every one who entered without the host's permission would lose his valor. (Studies in Fairy Mythology of Arthurian Romance, Paton, 1903)
