Martius Festus was a Roman knight who conspired
against Nero. (Personal Names in the Bible, Wilkinson, 1865)
MARTIUS, the son of Sisicres.
He incited the people of Susiana to revolt against Darius Hystaspes,
himself claiming to be one of the old royal family named Omanes.
He was slain by the Susians, when they found out that he was an imposter
and that Darius was marching to attack them. (An Archaic Dictionary,
Cooper, 1876).
